About the Artwork:

In this particular painting, I was inspired by a videoclip by Nicki Minaj. In my practice, I usually appropriate scenes from videoclips of trashy pop music, shifting them out of context, and manipulate them in a way that they become surreal and uncanny. I'm fascinated by the artificiality of the props in video clips and old movies, and doing my best to project and intensify this notion in my paintings.
