Artist statement

As a hyper-sensitive person (HSP), painting serves as my escape from the clutter and frenzy of contemporary life. Through the application of vivid oil colors, captivating gradients, and seemingly commonplace subject matter such as seascapes and sunsets, my artworks may initially appear easily digestible. However, upon closer inspection, an unsettling, uncanny quality emerges, challenging the viewer's perception. Whether it's the underlayer of toxic fluorescent acrylic orange that pops out here and there, or the ambiguity of the setting's space and time, a tension arises, giving a dreamscape quality to my artworks. This intentional ambiguity reflects my own rich dream life and profound connection with the subconscious.

I aspire to provoke contemplation and encourage viewers to reassess their understanding of everyday reality, inviting them to explore the world from a fresh and transformative perspective.

"In my paintings, I aim to reach pure escapism. A sense of a dreamscape, where place and time are not clearly defined."
